Our team of dedicated medical physicists understands the critical nature of healthcare and the regulatory and accreditation demands placed upon you. Staying current with respect to these demands is on-going for DTC staff to ensure quality outcomes.
The current DTC staff have over 150 years cumulative experience
in medical and health physics of
which about 100 years were obtained while at DTC.
A key component of safety and compliance is knowledgeable staff. Contact us if you would like us to assist you in educating your staff about the various facets of radiation safety, as well as those related to compliance issues.
To maintain staff and the public dose to radiation as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) it may be necessary to install shielding to reduce radiation levels.
DTC staff can assist you or your architect with a shielding design before you renovate existing spaces, or build new facilities. We can also test the shielding after it is installed to assure you of a proper installation.
“DTC’s ability to understand our needs and
timing assure that our projects are done on
time and right the first time. They take the
time to understand the issues and don’t over
design something just to make things
easy. When we need a shielding design,
DTC is who we call.”

DTC staff can support your radiation safety program and assure staff exposure to radiation is ALARA:
Conduct Periodic Compliance Audits
Review Personnel Dosimetry Records
Assess Work Practices
Provide Mandated Annual Radiation Safety Program Reviews
CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine
Nonclinical Image Submission
Annual/Periodic Testing of Imaging Equipment
Annual Lead Protective Apparel (aprons, etc.) Testing
Understanding the concerns and apprehension your patients may experience when exposed to radiation, DTC certified medical physicists will provide patient and fetal dose calculations in a timely manner, usually within 24-48 hours after you submit the pertinent information necessary for them to calculate the dose.
To request a patient or fetal dose calculation please complete one of the following forms and submit it to StatPhysics@dtcinc.com.
To ensure timely response, please also call (913) 236-6000 to ensure the form was received.
