Diagnostic Technology Consultants provides comprehensive compliance testing of radiographic and fluoroscopic units. This testing is usually performed on an annual basis according to the requirements of JCAHO, the NRC or the Agreement State in which you reside. This testing includes evaluation of the following:

• Visual inspection.
• kVp accuracy.
• Exposure timer accuracy.
• mR / mAs Linearity.
• Exposure repeatablity.
• Focal spot size.
• Radiation field / light field alignment.
• Half value thickness determination.
• Entrance skin exposure for fluoroscopic tubes.
• Fluoroscopic focus.
• Fluoroscopic resolution.
• Fluoroscopic collimator alignment.
• Entrance exposure for technique controlled exposures.
• Compliance with state radiation safety regulations.
• Compliance with good radiation safety practices of: JCAHO, NCRP, CRDH, AAPM.
• Review of film badge exposures.
• Review of radiation safety program.

A complete and comprehensive report on the above activities will be submitted by the medical physicist in a timely manner.

Note: One hour of non-patient time per x-ray tube is required for the physicist to conduct this evaluation.
